Konrad grew up in a major township, part of a farming hub producing food for the local city. His parents, while not wealthy, considered themselves better off than many of the surrounding farming families. However, a future as a shoemaker was not in the cards for Konrad by any means, no matter what his father may have wished. When he was old enough, Konrad joined the city militia, and served well for a number of years picking up many skills along the way from the older men. Alas, the area was mostly pacified and the only real battles Konrad saw was against bandits. Eventually he grew discontent with the lack of regular action and decided the New World offered what he really desired- a chance to garner fame and glory and perhaps even command a mercenary company of his own. Though only 26, Konrad is nonetheless a professional mercenary with several years of experience under his belt. He is somewhat cautious and reserved around strangers, but once a friendship has been forged one will find no better man to have one’s back.
